Been seeing a few katz around here sporting voyagers. This has been one synth that's been on my radar for a good minute. Now that lust has been cured with the addition of a performance series minimoog, I'll say this is def a Christmas gift to myself :smoker:

Everything Moog is sick.

I got myself an apc mini for christmas. I feel poor, but rich at the same time. Because i got all of you.

Got a Voyager myself and have to say... it's a great synth. Enjoy!

Thanks my man. I do recall seeing one in one of your pics. I also see there's a lot of uncharted territory I'll have to work with, but that's the fun of using your ears and imagination to create sounds.

Thanks Lamp! I joined one of the groups on FB and gave my opinion on ownership and some other things. I guess I came off with a nonchalant attitude about it's worth and one kat lol'd me...

Maybe it hasn't struck me yet that there's few rather than many that own a piece of history.

Hey bees, just hold on and one day your time will come. I never saw this actually happening, but I prep'd or put myself in the position to make it happen. For one, the price on these joints are going up and folks are mostly holding on rather than selling. If they do sell, it's at a premium. So the ones that are listed on average are going for around $3k on up. Just keep an eye on 'em and you just might find one for a steal.

Pro tip for you... if you're recording mono and want to beef up the sound... hook your R output to the external line input... and dial in external on the mixer to taste.

So keep main L output going to amp/mixer and take R output to external line input? I know there are patching possibilities on this board, so I'll def have to check that one out. Thanks NT

Yeah, I mean... you can switch L and R... depending on filtering it might make a difference... but if you need the Voyager to cut through just that little bit more it can take it up another level.

Not a problem! I picked up a 50th anniversary Voyager when it released... got the CP/Exp boards... had a bunch of moogerfoogers (though sold those)... the Voyager is definitely a fun synth...

Though Moog has a special place for me... it's the first place where I really *clicked* in on what was going on with all the envelopes, mixers, mod matrixes, oscillators, and all that fun stuff.

Moog is like a Supercar imo. Not just a road car, in the essence of like Pagani, Koenigsegg, Ferrari, Porsche or McLaren. Not to be taken lightly in the kybd world. The dude prolly felt it's mandatory to give Moog more credit. Don't worry about that, you do what you do.

It was one of the few things I've ALWAYS wanted to have and will never let go except for maybe a new more featured MOOG but still a Moog.

That's a pretty good analogy Lamp. I really haven't dwelled into the comparisons between MOOG's current line vs their legacy instruments. I understand the previous owner went with a newer MOOG product and didn't have use of this anymore. BTW, he mentioned he only used it once to make a patch for a recording he did and boxed it away afterwards only be sold. It was the fact that this was Mr MOOG's last line (the voyager series) of instruments before he passed that has his DNA and that is what made me want this. Only time will tell if I'll have enough time to invest in learning & experimenting with it.
