Whose idea was it to take Hakeem from the crappy show Empire, put him in a pink striped shirt, and have him market this toy?

I'd take an MV-8800 over an MV-1 any day.

And I'd take an MPC 4000 over an MV-8800 most days.

The lack of ins and outs alone makes the MV-1 look like an amateur device. Only one set of stereo outs? Only one midi in and one midi out? no digital in or out?

Like someone else said. It looks like a straight ripoff of the pioneer SP-16. And with the Pioneer going for $900 and probably having better specs, I don't see how Roland expects to compete.

While I understand and 1/2 agree, not all gear makes peeps “feel”.

The degree of fire ties into gear you like more imo. That feel is what starts/makes/keeps the fire.
