It’s the precursor the the Beat Kangz’s Beat Thang hardware. Some people on this forum and others don’t think too highly of them.

I had a Beat Thang hardware unit back in the day (2012-2016). Nice and solid, built like a tank. Best specs for a hardware sampler/sequencer at the time. 512 MB RAM, 2 SD card slots, USB slot for flash drives, 2 1/4” headphones out ports and a pair of 1/4” main outs, pitch bend & mod wheels, 1 5-pin MIDI In & 1 MIDI Out. Problem was some hardware units had issues with the firmware and they never fully fleshed out the hardware to software interface & librarian like the current MPC hardware and software.

Most people disliked the Beat Kangz because they marketed their products like they had street cred (Blang lighting levels effect for the LEDs, etc.) instead of trying to be professional like Akai, etc. They ended up folding sometime in late 2015/early 2016.

I will give you this: for all the hate they get they did have a solidly built machine that just needed a few more firmware updates to make it more stable and better. They also put over 3000 great samples in the hardware/software Beat Thang that were well tweaked for instant addition to your musical creations, and a couple hundred demo patterns/styles/sequences that showed what the gear could do in the right/capable hands.
