Aye good evening all

Just tried my USB dongle in my Z4. Its a new-ish one (anker), usb3.0 of course, so no surprise, it didnt get recognized.

So i'll grab another one. Are there any other specs required to work? Im assuming USB2.0,
Or anything else, tidbits or even if you use one & it goes..

I would possibly stay under 64GB and double-check to make sure it is formatted correctly (Fat32 should work just fine.)

Thanks Mike, maybe i worded my post wrong. I don't mean a usb thumb drive but the hub. Now i remember the word. Was scratching my head last night like wtf are they called again. Hub, expander port things haha
This is so i can use a qwerty without having to eject the usb thumb drive.

In that case I would try to locate a powered USB HUB. It may have a little power dongle to ensure that each port is able to power the devices you have connected to it.

Thanks.
With a powered hub would you guess that USB 3.0 or 2.0 would make a difference? Most 3.0 devices ive seen claim backwards compatibility anyway. But these Akais are from another era...

I’d say same, fat32, under 64, usb 2.0 thumb drive.
That’s what I’ve used before on my 4k back in the day.

Thanks, the powered USB hub worked out great. Luckily i found an old Belkin 7-port 2.0 lying around.

A small but convenient improvement to workflow not having to eject my thumb drive every time i wanna use a qwerty to name files.

Lampdog, thanks. Always helps to remember those specs!
