EMAX VS SP12

Got a MPC 2000xl at the mo i want some grit, ive heard alot of mixed bag about the ASR 10 SP 1200 and the s950.
will the s950 hold up to the sound of the other two? what about any other samplers? something dirty please

how about getting a good mixing desk or a tube to warm up your sounds

find an old crusty record. they got the good stuff

was considering getting a tube comp but they pretty pricey! sould sampling scratched records hold up?

i dont know about scratched records, but some old ones got plenty of dirt. hey dont mind me, man. thats just the cheap way out. but it works

yes..dig for 45's.............snares for days is what i say..then use some eq on it with your mixdown and if you want more warmth add a tube compressor to it or route it to something like a guitar effects box..........and rerecord it...there are so many ways to approach this.

ive got an old zoom fx, so i sample into my daw or mpc then route it thru the zoom then resample yeah? add distortion? (just a little) or not ?

Using the resampling feature on the 2kXL to convert your samples to 12bit.

SP303 or SP404 if you can find one for cheap.

im outa puff now but hey gotta lose the beer belly it will be worth it!! and hopefully the resampling should be ok too!!

what i dont get is why the asr 10 or sp 1200 is the main choice if they are 16 bit and the s950 is 12 bit? would anyone be able to suggest why?

emu emax 1 ...analog filters 12 bit...
