The SP-505 is a beast! I used that thing for like 5 or 6 years and got some ill beats out of it.

I got to tell you, life got better for me when I stopped worrying about what I didn’t have and started using what I do have.

this setup is more than enough.

started with sp 404 when i got my first job, then got an mpc 1000,

sold the 404, then the 1000, didnt mess with music.

got some doe, got an sp 505, sold that.

then got an eps 16- which i could never really get into sadly.

sold that and got an mpc 2500 for free from a friend along with some krks.

ensoniq mirage. : sold it because it was too big, but instantly regretted it.

Akai S1000HD, sold it, because i was going crazy collecting sample cds for it. So much time spent auditioning samples....

Akai S612, INCREDIBLE simple sampler., sweet filter, monotimbral, 12bit beast. Got it for 12€

Simmons sds9 drum brain, Not really a sampler, but i've got an eprom burner, so i can make new sample eproms) Ssm filters, midi,

Alesis hr16, again, not a sampler but i've reprogrmed its sample roms with a multisampled 808 kit.

What software you running?

I run Linux for development but never got on with any music software on it always seemed a bit naff compares to Pro tools , sound forge etc

Pioneer double tapedeck-1989 to 1992 (used with a turntable and a mixer)

Gemini DS-8-1992 to 1995 (spilled beer on it one day and burned out but it was a dope sound really heavy. I used to sample instruments off records for certain things like violins etc. But soon you sample something, boom, its like it came with a bassline that you couldn't hear when you sampled it.)
