Noob to iOS question

Just wondering because I need a versatile portable device that's sharp and responsive (tried a bunch
Of Android music apps and it's always either a poorly developed app or a good app killed by latency)
Been reading a lot about iOS and how they have virtually no latency and they have a ton of sweet music apps but I'm not into iPhone, thought about ipod but to small a screen for my taste ipad, I really don't want anything quite that big so I was wondering if the ipad mini would still run all the
Same music apps just asking because of the different size screen and I know Apple is kinda picky
about stuff like that.

Think of the mini as an iPad 2.5 in terms of CPU power, with a lower resolution screen than iPad 3 or 4, but still a nice display overall. It's likely just what you're looking for. And the music app landscape is a treasure trove of dope stuff. I have fairly large hands and even I fiind my iPad 1 and iPad 3 a bit heavy in my hands after holding it for extended periods. I mean I have holders and stands, and there's always legs/lap, but I still might want to have kids if I meet a younger woman.

Android is just now getting to grips with the latency issues. But it's so late in the game that you won't see many iOS ports even when the lower latency is implemented in the newest devices. Even if it's part of the OS spec millions of legacy droid devices won't be able to take full advantage I'd bet.

They should have made it a priority 3-4 years ago. The artistic/music user base+the mainstream user base they have over the platform's life could have added up to enough to beat Apple. Too late now.

Yeah, 64padzzx3, the next iPad mini could be expected to be at "iPad 3.5" level of performance if not better, and a better screen. So you'll have the option of decent performing discounted or used legacy units as well as the latest mot powerful one, so you'll get value no matter which route you go.

I still get good use out of my 256MB iPad 1 with most apps that don't require iOS 6. The iPad 3 while way less powerful than 4 is still no slouch either.

There's talk of the next iPad and iPad Mini sharing the same A7X processor, although I don't know if they will be clocked differently.
