So I bought the mpc fly

From the Black Friday sale, I bought the mpc fly for $99 dollars with free shipping from akai. I gotta say, it's a nice piece and would have been the shit if it was tought out properly and made it really work with other apps. Now that beatmaker allows you to map the pads to anything, no need for the once crazy work around.
Now the only problem I have is how to open it? Anyone tried? There are no freaking screws on this thing. I was planning on a mod which would allow me to plug In midi keyboard and a sound card to make this thing truly the shit! If anyone knows please share.

Does it work well with Beatmaker?

Just the drum pads only. Everything else is just like the reviews, triggering notes. It's great that beatmaker allows you map the pads now. I wish I could use the control buttons too.

Even given the limitations that hurt the product at launch, being able to grab one $99 does change the expectations. That lower price is a lot more in line with what you're getting. I could even see myself considering one at that price as my iPad is usually in one of two protective cases I have anyway.

@Metatron. That's what I thought too and why I bought it. For $99 it's great with iMPC, lot better than hitting the screen and it makes a great ipad holder and looks sexy as hell. I'm enjoying it but lacking connections which is why I wanna mod it.
