Ok call me a sceptic but the scartch sounds are not even remotely in sync with the video, this looks like a hoax to me.

It's 1 small sample, assign the slider to tune, everytime you hit the pad is a retrigger of that sample (since the 2kxl is NOT realtime tune adjusting, it's only adjusted on retrigger), adjust the slider to a different tune right before you retrigger the sample, easy.

Yes, it's very do able. Not hard to figure out at all. Has nothing to do with video, audio being in sync, it can be done and it's not even an advanced technique, it's just most people don't use the slider in this fashion or sometimes not at all so they are amazed at such a basic feature..

word. i only use that slider to move the cursor when trimming samples. looks like i'll be dusting off the manual when i get home!
