Not exactly. At one point you always have to stop the sequence, whether it is in Direct Recording, or just in Record Mode, letting the sequence run in background, which works as well and is basically the same. Tweaking samples you already have in memory, yes. Sampling on the fly, difficult.

What if the MPC is slaved to say the Triton, would you have to stop the sequence then?

However he did it, it looks fun. Im considering a JamMan since reading this thread.

I was especially talking about the 2500. If you have two machines, that may be a whole other story.
