MPC Software 2.8 and Pioneer DJM 850 Issue

Hi fellas,

I recently updated from MPC 2.7 to MPC 2.8, I have been using a pioneer djm 850 (dj mixer) for the past year as a sound card.
I use the mpc software in conjunction with it, I had no issues till the 2.8 upgrade.
It seems that 2.8 pick up the clock from the djm even if the mixer is not assigned under the ''midi tab'' window.
Nor Ableton or other software I got is doing that.
Any chance I can stop mpc software to constantly picking up midi clock from the djm 850?
It is really weird stuff, shall I contact pioneer as well?

Lots of different gear lately are seeing this when midi'd with mpc 2.8.

It's called "Active Sense" (AS) and functions near exactly like a computer network 'ping'.

MPC receives ping as soon as connected midi devices are powered on, checking for connectivity. You can turn off all midi in MPC and this ping still might be there. Some gear have features/filters that effectively turn midi AS off (aux msgs or an AS setting) and some gear doesn't. It's not midi clock and it won't affect timing midi at all.

You can safely ignore it.

It's driving some people crazy just seeing it constantly hit up MPC midi monitor in though.

I see it from Kronos2 on MPC X midi monitor in 'Active Sense FE". I don't see it happening with my Moog subsequent-37.

It was always there before 2.8, MPC users just didn't have extensive midi monitoring to "see" it before, but now MPC's can see it.

thank you for the reply, I did not notice I had ''sync input'' on ''midi clock'', so I guess that's why I was getting the master tempo from the djm 850.
I use MPC Software in stand alone in conjunction with Ableton, as master clock via midi and the djm as sound card via usb.
Before 2.8 the clock signal from the djm 850 was bypassed in some way, dunno what happened.
actually I cannot get too tech, I'm already getting headache :)
any chance someone can provide a legit installer for 2.7 so I can downgrade?

I think I've found a workaround.
I am using MidiPipe for Mac osx and now I can filter out the midi clock from the djm 850.
Now I got a steady clock sync from Ableton, I ''just'' have to launch MidiPipe before MPC Software and Ableton.
I guess before 2.8 the mpc software was able to filter out certain midi signals, while now whatever is connected to the system pass trough the software?
