Pad Perform and MPD 218 MPC 2.8.1

Hello, I currently have the MPC 2 Software (MPC 2.8.1) and I am using it with an MPD218. Is there a way the pads on the MPD218 can trigger the chords when in Pad Perform on the software? When I am in Pad Perform on the MPC software it only works when I use a mouse to click on the virtual pads, but when I press the pads on the MPD218 it only plays single notes.
