Hi, Just getting into MPC music production, but having trouble using the 'One' with MPC Beats software.

In controller mode only the midi input works, the MPC 'One' screen just says attach to computer (or similar) and cannot connect to the software. :(

Any ideas of how to connect via usb?

Much appreciated, Shansi

MPC Beats can be controlled by the MPC One in controller mode, but it is primarily for use with other (non MPC) controllers. Hence MPC Beats doesn't come with any MPC One drivers.

The main issue here is that you shouldn't really be using MPC Beats, you are given a full MPC Software license as part of your MPC One purchase, and the MPC Software does come with MPC One drivers.

So, go to akaipro.com, create an account, register your MPC One. Download the MPC Software, install the software, then install the drivers (all handled with the one installer). Install iLok manager and enter the MPC Software activation code in that.

If you insist on using MPC Beats, you should still download the MPC Software installer trial and just skip straight to the driver installation, which I believe will install the driver permanently even without the full version of the MPC Software registered. https://www.akaipro.com/mpc-software-2
