sequencing won’t recognise pads

Hello everyone, for some context I haven’t been using mpc beats for very long. I’ve been using an mpk mini 3 as a midi controller but only recently found out about the sampling side if mpc beats. It’s a new software so I thought I’d make something silly just to get used to it and it’s causing me so many problems. I prefer to make my own drums and synths out of recorded sounds, so i record something, chop it, but when I switch from the sampler to the sequencer the pads just forget everything accept for one thing. I can’t seem to program them in. I’ve used learn and enable so many times but when I switch to `”program” the sample disapears…in fact it all goes away. I have to reload the entire sample and when I go to lay the chops in the sequencer only one sound gets remembered. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong and have spent hours trying to fix it. If anyone can help I would be so grateful. Thank you in advance
