Allow me to rephrase myself...

What is IRCAM time-stretching from MOTU MACH5IVE.

Pitch envelope (battery, Kontakt, ableton sampler, etc.., most all samplers). Helps for creating new drum sounds or more realism imitating the stretching of skins etc...

2 Filters (Kontakt, Machfive 3, etc..) A second filter opens up a lot of possibilites for shaping sounds and creating unique filter types. Also one could perform utility functions while the other was used creatively.

Modulation Matrix (EXS24) This with multiple sources, a couple LFO's, envelopes, control input (modwheel, aftertouch, velocity, etc...) with destinations to most everything in the sampler. An exotic destination would be something like the sampler loop start/end points (Kontakt).

Background record (Ableton I guess?). Being able to record while navigating the MPC software. This would allow us to do things like play and tweak parameters live while recording the audio and then go back through and chop out the good pieces for building sampler instruments or FX banks of sounds for example.

EQ or Filter for each layer in a drum program (not sure on this one). This allows for more intricate drum layering. For example when you layer kick drums you sometimes use the bottom from one and the top from another. This would allow building layered sounds on a single pad in a drum program where you could filter or EQ the bottom out of one kick and the top out of another. Then alter these layers as needed to fit the song as it progresses.

Insert Silence w/the ability to shift the audio to the right (extending the sample length) rather than just silencing what is there, in addition to the current silence functionality (Battery 4). When layering clap or snare samples that you want to sound very big it's sometimes very useful to duplicate the sample and pan each one hard left and hard right. In addition to this you shift the timing of one of the samples forward or backward so the left and right hit slightly out of time. You can accentuate this more by putting a peak with EQ (see individual layer EQ/Filter above) in one where you put a dip in the other. By inserting silence on a duplicate of the sample you can then adjust the start time of the sample to get different varying lengths of time delay on one of the samples. This makes it easier to tweak the timing until it sounds how you want.

.....
These would be very useful things to me.

One feature I would like to see is from the akai mpc 4000 . To be able to load a program while the mpc is still playing that for me would be so helpful. Which I'm suprise thats not in the Ren .Sincethe Ren uses your computer power than the 4000 which was limited .
