3) Manual slice points in chopping
4) Controllable chop 'Release' similar to Recycle and MPC1000, which creates an additive decay at the end of each chop to eliminate 'choppiness'. Different to the release in ADSR.

#3 is definitely on the way, soon.

in the meantime, in trim mode, you can select the section you want, hit ASSIGN, hit the pad you want, and set it to create a new sample. workaround for now.

What's up Dan !glad ur back!

How about instead of using shift to access the additional 4 sound banks ,why not just double button press to access them.color of the bank button would change accordingly identifying which layer u where in.(i.e. double clicking bank A would get u access to bank E along with the button changing color) and this would be great for the sample button also.double clicking the sample edit button would bring u to the sampling screen.

Interesting idea but i personally wouldnt want this. To me, if im in sat sequence edit mode, and i want to get out of it, i see a shiny red button, i instinctively press it to turn it off. In your scenario ide be brought to rec sample. Then, id have to press it again, but then, does it turn it off? Or does it bring you back to sample edit?

We actually discussed this early on and decided shift was more traditional mpc.

Actually...the MPC 4000 is the only MPC with a dedicated sampling button I believe. The other MPCs accessed sample via two button presses or SHIFT/MODE + Pad/Button.

But I certainly agree. I am not fond of shift + functions but I have grown accustomed to them :|

I like masada2502 idea about the bank buttons though. That would certainly be a faster workflow...press Bank A once....pads A01-A16...press it again Pads E01-E16.

Actually old boy, all the Akai models up to the 4k had a dedicated record button all the models after that were shift/mode. Remember this is the renaissance based on the 3k layout with modern software.

Actually young whipper-snapper...the MPC 3000 doesn't have a dedicate sample record button.

The button is called Programs/Sounds. After you press that button, you are in a menu full of options. Press [5] for the Record Menu. And how do I know this...in spite of being an MPC fanatic...I am an MPC 3000 owner/user.

And while we can say the MPC Ren is 'based' off of the 3000 in very few ways.....it has more in common with the MPC 2500 and 5000. Google pics.

Dan ,Well how about offering an option in the software to turn double button pressing on.....compromise :-D

I understand keeping the legendary Mpc functionality and work flow but lets not toss out innovation ..change ....Maschine has us talking about adding maschine functions in a MPC....hmmmmmm? Change is a coming...change is good Dan .trust us ...we ll make u a legend .

Please please please implement MIDI MSB/LSB bank changes. Please. This is very much so needed. This way the Ren can be the true center piece.
