I read on the akaipro forum that what is causing this is the metronome enabled on Record + Play.

If you configure the metronome to have a precount on Record only (and NOT when hitting play), everything will line up correctly. Since my 2000XL and 4000 were never set to have the metronome precount when hitting play, this work around is actually "normal" for me.

This worked for me on Mac OS X Mavericks. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I thought there might be a simple solution to this!

@jhamboc It's in QA right now. Will be coming soon. Then another release shortly after.

Just got this reply from Pete in reference to bug fix update. Shouldn't be long tip bug fixes eh?

I think this is a bug so will post it in the bug reports.

I'm sure I was able to record some forms of automation for a keygroup program in earlier versions but in 1.8 absolutely no automation is being recorded for a keygroup prog.

Drum programs and vst's are fine...even inserts but not keygroups.

P.S. Why isn't this a sticky yet?

has anyone else got this issue or know what it is im doing wrong?

Yes, I read your other thread and couldn't reallytell what was going on in the video, but based on what you wrote I could follow what you meant somewhat. I tried it on my Ren using a song I reently created in 1.7.2 that I had added and removed tons of sequences to and from w/o issues. I went back into it under 1.8 and added more steps to bring the total to 20 steps, when I scrolled back to the top of the list on the hardware it changed the first 6 steps to be the same sequences as the last 6 steps. I'm on Os X 10.8.4 pretty rough bug there...

I actually saw this behaviour under 1.7 - even posted about it in the 1.7 bugs thread. The song mode sequence would sometimes change the top sequences when adding to the end (when entering lots of steps).

Not sure if it was me doing something stupid, and not gone back in again to confirm, but when exporting a track (as a WAV), I found a difference based on where I was exporting from.

So exported from Song Mode screen
And converted to a sequence in song mode and then from seq edit, exported as sep file

End result is there is a slight (prob sub-1sec) difference to the output files (if you put them on sep tracks in a DAW like Audition they eventually go out of sync)

Today nice mpc moment!

Scan vst 1.8 all crash. Software freeze. Exporting wav tracks, software freeze, song mode not working. Filtering pads and samples, hardware freeze, software crash.

Uninstall 1.8 > install 1.7.2 back vst work, songmode work,Exporting work, mixers presets not work good. But can make beats finall.

Just test new time1.8 and vst crash and software crash all time.

Go back 1.7.2 :WTF:

i have been having an issue with my iMac when using the mpc software. The software causes my graphics to get messed up and i get a rainbow color or black screen and it locks my computer up. This only happens when the mpc software is open so I'm assuming it is the software that causes this. Very annoying. I am running the latest version of Yosemite. Has anyone else come across this issue?

+1
64 bit and 32 bit versions just can't handle third party plug in scan without freezing up. Also seeing the 'Preference' menu freeze up in 64 bit.
Win 7 64 bit, Intel quad core with 32gb of RAM. I am able to run all DAWs without this level of error (Cubase, Abelton, Reaper, PT, FL, etc.)
There's nothing else connected to usb.
Please understand the frustration here. I have owned this thing almost two years with very little improvement in stability or performance. I remain patient, but it's worth noting I have not been able to use this as anything more than a simple plug in within cubase.

song mode is jacked right now, keeps changing my sequences around and putting them in different orders from ones I have chose, sounds like a lot of people have this problem right now.

can't export a full son until this is fixed

I scanned through here and didn't notice anything about this but how do you automate in 1.8? I had no problems with the improvements in the last updates but now I can only automate track mute/solo's. Everything else in 1.8 has run flawlessly for me.

Now i install Yosemite 10.10.2->I was mpc-studio 1.7.2 last when scan plugins->update 1.8 mpc-studio and re-install hardware-driver->machine restart. All works stable and well. And song-exporting work :worthy: :-D

Like this song-mode work well! But NOT! if you have other-tempo/tempo changes in your song-sequences like sequence verse 2bar 90bpm +2bar 92bpm +2bat 90bpm it's only play 90bpm.

I may have found a workaround

ie
In Song select
song 1 and sequence intro
song 2 and sequence verse
song 3 and sequence chorus
song 4 and sequence outro

convert each song to new sequences

in song 5 sequence final song

What are the specs on your Win 8.1 laptop and is it still performing well with MPC v1.8??
