Yes, actually i do my layering with different PAD to have different Amp and Filter envellope on each sound.

Then why not an envelope and a "solo - mute" button for each layer of a single Pad, each layer volume, Panning and Pitch are already independent.
Then Add a Pitch and Pan envelope to.
LFO is cyclic, envelope are more free.
Then maybe an option to switch between the LFO and additional Envelope generator ?? IDEA...

Pad solo would be nice in my opinion...

Could be possible in real-time export... Your mixing analog and digital up...

The only way to achieve this, is to sample your external gear in the Ren when you finish sequencing, put a gate and let it play it allong the whole song like an audiotrack. Or using a DAW

SELECTABLE Default ChopMode and default Save folder under preferences !

Default chop mode is Treshold and i never use it. It just waste some time for me to switch from treshold to region or bpm. When working on a long sample, It hit the cpu when switching from TRIM To CHOP, because it generate more than a hundred of slice points.

It would be nice to have half bar sequences, maybe even dotted and triplet sequences. Mabye even a chord generater expansion plugin that loads vst instruments,
that way we could use multiple vsts at once.

I'm not sure whether this has been mentioned before (maybe even by myself), but what really pusses me off is the fact that the peak hold indicators aren't linked. I always have to RESET PEAKS on both the hardware and in the software. There might be a good reason for this which totally eludes me. At least a tick box in the prefs would be great for that.

Also hardware zoom would still be greatly appreciated.

Furthermore when in SAMPLE REC you only arm LEFT or RIGHT, it doesn't go mono at all since monitoring still only comes out of your left / right speaker. The file's mono alright, but it's pretty annoying not to hear the original sound from both speakers.

Biggest PLUS though would be sidechaining capability.

Seconded. As the KONG in Reason does, PAD SOLO would be great. PAD MUTE is fine but only sort of half-arsed...

2-snap to region in chop mode? and a discard button in chop mode for much improved chopping workflow after auto detection!

3-lfo delay or fade in (crucial for bass music!!)i can see theres a space for it too next to the sync drop down button!see ni's kontakt for example.

4-looping options (forward/reverse/alternate)-like the mpc 4000

5-window zoom presets/default setups for quicker editing and less constant zooming in/out.-see cubase as very good example

6-plug in bypass button per plug in.

7-envelope/lfo presets

8-multiple file load from browser instead of one at a time-like the drag n drop from desktop

9-not stopping of sequencer whilst loading a sample from the browser

10-blue enter button on numeric keypad to act as also the "do it"button on hardware for quick workflow

11-plugin/effect automation

12-saveable swing setup templates/presets

13-auto preview volume fader

14-playing in context preview from browser(ie-140 tempo master previews samples at 140)

comming from a cubase arrangement backgrount which is pretty much flawless now after many years of updates i think the guys at akai should closley look more at how things are done arrangement wise in cubase and logic.. ie, how it uses actual blocks and how easy it is to copy them. just for example on cubase you can select a block hold control and pull the mouse as far as you want it it just copies as many items as you want, its very fast and easy, the ren is not too cleaver on the arrangement page.

also something that should be on there is when your in program edit and you select the filter section when you move the quick control for example the cut off, it moves and controls the filter but it is not able to be recorded from this part and it should so all controls should be recordable from any page. If note switch or knob turns these turns should be mapped to record...
You shouldnt have to go to the main page and have to assign a quick control knob to what you want to control.

as is, there are only manual and threshold sampling triggers. however, the threshold trigger is practically useless without a presampling time parameter b/c the attack is always cut. therefore, there needs to be options to start sampling whenever a pad is pressed or the sequencer starts. this would allow you to sample guitar riffs or external synths in sync with the sequencer.

additionally, there are currently only manual and time stop sampling triggers. however, there should also be an option to stop sampling after a certain number of beats. this would eliminate the need to do any sample editing to correct timing.
