If I open a beat I've done previously, all chop mode functions are normal. If i open up a brand new session, chop mode acts like what you see above. If you look closely, I'm adjusting the start points, and it plays with adjusted start point, but the actual markers themselves dont move.

This only happens in 1.1.

So I've found out more information.

If I import a sample from waveform, mp3, whatever, it chops fine in chop mode. If I record a sample (I'm using my digital input) first, then try to chop, the following happens. If I directly afterward, input a file already on my hard drive, then use chop mode on it, chop mode works fine for that file, and THEN will work fine on the Recorded audio. Here's a video to explain. Notice when I first record the Rhodes notes, its moving and playing the start point where I'm moving the qlinks, but the actual marker is NOT moving. After I import a file, chop it, then go back, it works properly.

That is the answer. Can't even find one that can mange this one thread....

Honestly though, there shouldn't even be the need to have to "manage" a thread! A bunch of grown ass men constantly arguing like bitches over nothing! A nice debate is ok here and there, but shit be getting like Afghanistan. Who in their right mind would want to mod this place?

Big shout out to those actually discussing bug reports in this thread.

Today I reproduced the problem I discussed recently regarding moving the start and end point markers in chop mode on 3 different Ren's on 3 different computers, all using 1.1.

This is an official bug.

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Open a brand new session, with no samples, programs, or sequences loaded.
2) Record a sample through the MPC Ren inputs (analog or digital).
3)Enter the sample edit screen.
4) Select Chop Mode
5) Adjust the threshold to a level that gives you a handful of slices
6) Select the first slices, and using the qlinks, try to adjust the start point marker.
7) Notice the start marker moves on the hardware LCD, but it does NOT move on your computer screen.
8 ) Import/Drag&Drop a sample thats been previously recorded or stored on your hard drive into the project information box.
9) Open it in Sample Edit
10) Select Chop Mode
11) Notice you can adjust the start and end points now of a slice.
12) Go back to editing the sample you recorded
13) Now when you adjust the start and end points, they actually move on the computer screen.

Page 27 of the manual states I can hold down shift and select 4 samples from the file browser to drag simultaneously to a pad. Is anyone able to get this to work? I can only select 1 sample at a time in the file browser, shift does not let me multiple select - holding down shift while dragging a single sound just lets me assign one sound at a time to a different layer on a pad. The description definitely seems to suggest there is a way to drag 4 samples at the same time.

I'm on Mac 10.6.8, running MPC 1.1.

MPC Manual wrote:In the MPC software, click on the Main tab. Locate the desired sample in the File Browser and drag it onto the desired pad. The sample is now "placed" on the corresponding pad. Hold SHIFT to select up to four samples and drag them on a pad simultaneously.

I don't see this in the manual I have. Page 27 is Step Sequence and Automation.

It is a manual misprint and/or function that wasn't implemented yet. Simult dragging of multiple samples from the browser to a pad hasn't been possible to the best of my memory.

I just double checked with the official 1.0 manual, directly from the akai web site:

http://www.akaiprompc.com//pdf/MPC-Refe ... l-v1.0.pdf

It's there on page 27. But I then checked the 1.1 manual, and it's gone. I guess it didn't get implemented and they forgot to delete from the 1.0 manual.

When using the mpc as a plugin in ableton and having a clip (say a sample loop), when i press play on the mpc ren (which is set as transport in ableton), the clip will kind of double trigger and then the pattern inside the mpc plugin will be out of time with the ableton time. Ive tried reinstalling ableton and mpc but it stilldoes it. ive seen others with it working so i not sure if its a bug. any idea JAH?

Another problem i have and i cannot seem to duplicate but has happened to me me several times is

Create a new program, make a drums loop(say two bars) and then goto song mode insert the sequence and have it loop several times then convert to new sequence. When you play the new sequence with loop on it plays the sequence fine first time but when it loops it plays blank, no events show up when it loops, then when i stop and play from start again it does exactly the same.

Im using a pc with 8gb and quad core amd with 64 bit windows 7.

When I try to add a Guitar Rig 5(5.1.0) effect to one of my drumpads, MPC 1.1 crashes.

Happened to me 5 times in a row, with several songs. Any unsaved data is lost.

MacBookPro5,1, BootROM MBP51.007E.B06, 2 processors, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.4 GHz, 8 GB, SMC 1.41f2

OSX 10.8.2

Perhaps Akai is initially making NI products incompatible?

Which Guitar Rig effects are you having problems with?

LOL! Maybe ;-) But Andy Mac showed me the MPC 1.1 software last week and used Absynth ;-) SHould have crashed too...

Doesn't matter which effect, any effect. The software crashes wil I hit play, the metronome counts and BOOM. :|

Does those effects work in other DAWs? Is the issue PC or Mac. All the pertinent details in one post would be helpful.
