This would imply that i mix my whole sequence, before i copy it and make let's say a chorus out of a part-sequence.

Well, that's not realistic. So if i have 4 sequences in the end, i have to adjust every single effect-plugin on every single track in each of the 4 sequences, if i change anything. Total workflow killer!

I don't use effect plugins in the ren till now because of the above and because the waves-plugins crash every single damn time i try to reopen the project...

So not that anybody else is using program changes for their MPC plugin but
the problem I posted above on page 6 only occurs when sending program changes. If I manually change the sequence (such as using next sequence and hitting a pad) in time with the arranger event then it doesn't glitch.

Can anybody else confirm this?

quad core
cubase 6.5

im using ren as a plug in as i find the ren far too tricky and time consuming to arrange compared to cubase.

since i got the ren on all software versions it does not cycle well in sync with cubase, if i stop everything and start it again its ok but when i just start it by just jumping back on cubase the ren does not recognise the shif in cubase and just continues playing.....

also i cant record automation in plugin mode, im basically writing parts in the reg sequencer and want to record filter cut off automation, i hit overdub and move the knobs and i can hear the change but it just wont record them.
even if i pull up automation under the edit window filter cut off is not even there to draw in manually.

the unit is starting to drive me mad when used as a plug in but thats why i bought it .. arrrrrghhhhhh. it has so much potential and im sure akai will sort it but it could take time.

Make sure your REN plugin is set to "Plugin" not "DAW" for the transport controls. This will make it so you can record into the plugin instead of the daw when you hit record.

I agree and I don't really see a great way around this unless they can implement a way to route the individual pads to tracks "with insert effects" and not to the Sub mixes.

Or if they give us more sub mixes and allow us to put insert effects on sub mixes. Maybe have a new sub mix created as needed up to 128 sub mixes?

A couple of bugs to mention:

When in Track Edit mode, when I try to change sequence in the top right, all I get from the pop up menu are programs.

When in song mode, setting a sequence to HOLD (in the repeats section) causes the software to crash.

Send Return settings don't save with your project or template.

I even have problems maximizing the MPC software window. It doesn't always fill out the whole screen like it should so I have to click it a couple of times!

I use the software standalone on a Core 2 Duo PC running Windows 7 (32bit) with 4 gigs RAM.

When saving a project does anyone else get pops or clicking noises from some of the pads when it's loaded back in?.....Only does it every now and then.

Audible Stepping in MPC sampler Filter Cutoff (adjusting from QLINK) No Smoothing?

I'm preparing a library of bass sounds based on single cycle analog waveforms. They loop great in the MPC sampler but I notice an audible stepping when moving the filter cutoff with the QLINK. This is in DRUM PROGRAMS and KEYGROUPS both. The filter steps in relation to the number value on the display readout. This makes it very difficult to use it to play live and tweak the filter live since it's super audible and sounds horrible. If I use the LFO or Envelopes it sounds fine.

So my guess is that some sort of controller smoothing has not been implemented for controls like Filter Cutoff that need to be smooth when tweaked and not changed in steps.

So bug report/feature request? This is SOOOOO necessary!

Im pretty sure this is a bug. Sometimes when I switch sequences, a few of my tracks will just stop playing and only a select few will remain playing. None of them are muted or anything. Im on a mac. 10.8.2 Mountain Lion. im running the latest mpc ren software. Im not using any vsts or au either.

I just bought the MPC Studio, I work with my MPC 1000 and Maschine and was hoping this would bridge the gap but so far it's got issues I hope to resolve. I got a 2008 macbook with 6 gigs of ram, no problems with maschine but now with the studio I have latency issues.. Loading vst's is a nightmare so far. when I play the pads they don't seem to respond properly and don't always light up. When I use my roland A-49 keyboard, the notes just keep holding down, even though I've let go of the keys. The bank works fine with my keyboard but all of the others like Massive, FM8, etc are just messed right up when I try to play the keys with my controller. Tone 2 Electra X crashes shortly after start up, this never happens with Maschine. I understand that the mpc software still has a lot of bugs but I'm hoping my issue's can get resolved without a 1.3 and + software update. Help please?

For the pad lights, I can say that for me, lowering the audio resolution down to 44kHz (or even 48kHz) has made the pad lights respond nearly normal! 96kHz causes them to barely work at all!.

My biggest issue right now is getting my midi controller keyboard to work properly. I have Reason, Live, Maschine, etc and have never had issues trying to play keys. Like I said the bank works fine for me but all of my other vst's, FM8, Massive, Gladiator, etc every time I hit a key and release, the note just keeps playing. Also several times now The sound cuts out and I get a message saying hardware disconnected, please re-connect. I have to power off the studio and turn it back on to work. These are the 2 big ones for me. Can anyone help me to fix this or is it just the 1.2 software?

This generally happens when using AU versions of the instruments (you didn't specify if you were on Mac OS X or Windows). I've found that using the VST version of the instrument instead will get rid of the Stuck Note problem in most every case.

So try using VST instead of AU if thats what you are doing.

I had Audio Unit's selected, I took it off and it the issues with my keyboard are resolved. Thanks for your help. I have a macbook.

Question : Anyone get bugs on the LCD ?

I have a lots of display bugs (Constantly) with the "MPC plugin" running in my daw, but yesterday I played the MPC standalone and saw a lot off errors on the display. ( My computer was turned on about 10 hours before and worked a lot. After I rebooted all bugs were gones .)

I ask it because I didn't saw anyone yelling about that since 1.2 released . That's annoying, especially when the bottom of the main screen still shows the program edit bottom screen while switching between both ... lol ...

Could it be my setup ? Could it be a GPU based glitch ? I'm running an old Geforce 7200 passive on my computer. I really don't think that's the source of my problem, but I have to know if you experienced some of these display error on the Ren.

Maybe it's a USB or a drivers issue... I really don't know, just hope for a fix...
