There are so many cool sounds you can make by tweaking sample loop times or twisting an FX plugin parameter live and countless other things.
I would like to be able to turn on recording, then leave the recording page and go into sample edit or open an FX plugin while it's recording and start tweaking stuff all while the software is recording the audio of what I'm doing in the background. Then go in after and cut out samples I want from it. This would open up a lot of potential sound design abilities that we currently are unable to do right now.
