Have you used another product and wished your MPC could do the same?

If so...what features from these samplers would you like to see added to the MPC Software? I am compiling a list of forum suggestions. Be sure to include the names of the products that have the specific features you want.

parameter modulation :-D

Reaper...

Renoise has a simialr function called the signal follower(a plugin in the chain) which can then send to other parameters in other tracks...

Please be so kind to list the product that can accomplish the specific features you suggest so I can use them as references.

Thanks.

Assign a whole program to a qlink, not just 1 pad per q link - old mpcs, fantom g

ability to choose to overwrite or make a new sample - fantom g, old mpcs

add insert fx on incoming sampling signal - fantom g

assign bpm for samples so samples can be auto time-synced/time-stretched with bpm of project - fantom g

Show L and R stereo channels at same time on hardware screen - fantom g

real Non destructive chopping - asr x i believe, and some other sampler

non destructive reverse - plenty of samplers

mixer view on hardware screen like mpc2500 where it shows vertical bars for volume, and circular knobs for panning, instead of just numbers

pressing shift and note repeat is the same as pressing note repeat and shift in that order, doesn't matter what order you press them, good for using note repeat in live use - mpc2500, not sure other mpcs

Mixer is global/the same for every sequence, or make it an option or some kind of better implementation - most mpcs and other samplers

make software look more pleasing to the eye, darker colors, customizable colors - maschine ,etc

just off the top if i think of anything else ill post

Setting a sample start offset amount so basically, if you had a drum loop of 4 sounds, you wouldn't have to chop it into 4 parts to use it on 4 different pads; you could load up the same sample on every pad and just adjust the sample start amount for each pad.

this is on MPC 4000, for example.

…from MPC 4000.

And Emu E4, and probably other samplers.

Though, looking at the E4 implementation, it seems that it moves the playback start point within the sample, and always starts playback at the sample trigger point.

Is that what it does in the MPC4000?

Might be useful, if it does as above, to have a sample trigger offset as well, for each layer.

This would always play the sample from the beginning, but offset the start of playback against when the sample is triggered by an event.

This might be more for shifting samples slightly against each other, to find the best phase relationship between layered samples, such as layered single drum hits, rather than starting the playback of the sample at a different point within the sample, as I think Fanu is requesting above, and how it seems to do it in the E4.
