Save Feature Upgrade

Can we get back the old save format (With or without the actual sound file)? If I am using my drumkit I should not have to repeatedly save the same kit sounds to multiple folders. I am sure that is a simple code to link the sound location to the program. It has bothered me since day but, I figured that was a simple oversight that would get fixed...4.5 years later, nope.
