project data folder size optimization

When I save a project I only want to save the samples I have used in the track. I don't want every sample contained in the programs/key groups to be saved in the project data folder. This makes the project data folders massive. Akai needs to add an option that immediately deletes every sample that is unused in the project. My project data folders end up being 250 mb each when 99% of the samples are unused! Please Akai this is ruining my MPC experience and taking unnecessarily large amount of space on my drive.

Simple solution - re-save the project with a different name (hit purge first to ensure no unused samples remain in memory). Delete the original project folder.

I think the OP is asking how to get rid of unused samples.

The problem here is if you load a drum kit with 128 hits, and only use 2 hits... the MPC has no way to determine if you meant to use them or not.

I suspect the proper solution would be, only load what you need...

or

delete the offending Program, create a new one with the hits you need, and then purge.

The problem is that as long as the MPC has a reference through an audio track, clip, drum kit, key group, etc... it will not know if you want to use that sample ever or not, and thus, won't delete it.
