Unresponsive Q Links

I just purchased the MPK Mini and went to set it up with MPC Beats. All of the keys and pads work but the knobs to control Q Links don't work. I can see the levels changing on the keyboard but there is no response in the MPC beats program. It is my understanding that this function should be automatic? I've re-downloaded MPC beats as well as set up my midi again. Any recommendations?
