Hey all, I'm a total noob. I am just wondering if you have to have expansion packs installed on both MPC software AND MPC Life to use in controller mode? And if not, is it beneficial to have it installed on just one over the other? Is it beneficial to have it installed on both? Thanks in advance!

No, you don't need to have them installed on both, but generally people tend to install them in both environments so you have access to the entire expansion whether you are in standalone or controller mode.
But, if you do load a kit from a standalone only expansion and save the project, the kit is saved with the project so will open fine in controller mode, even if the expansion isn't installed in controller mode, they are not 'linked' in any way.

But take care, since not all „expansions“ (e.g. The Wub) work standalone.
