MPC is crashing everytime I try to save a project. It doesn’t matter whether I restart my computer or software. I lose all my progress everytime & it is so unbelievably frustrating… makes me feel like I’ve wasted my time I am up to the latest version of software… I just want to work & know my progress won’t be wasted. Auto save has not worked either.

I am NOT telling you to abandon this software but NOTHING is like a good piece of hardware. It won’t crash & it will work everytime until you actually break it.

If you dig synths, get 1-2 hardware synths
OR
If you dig drums, get 1-2 drum machines
Work these into your software workflow & always be able to get your ideas out even when apple or MS is having problems.

I always rec having a dedicated computer for beats. Esp. if you are DAW heavy.
No AV, only a firewall.
No junk software. Cheap windows computers are loaded with trash
Optimize settings/drivers for audio & midi

BACK UP OFTEN

X has crashed on me about 5 times in more than a years time. MPC Software, damn near everytime I open it and give it another chance and I have a pretty damn good pc I’ve built recently.

The MPC clearly blurs the line between software & hardware.
I’m talking about traditional hardware form Korg & Moog

Tri extreme never crashed on me for a full decade, moog 37, never for more than 2yrs, kronos2, more than 2 yrs, never crashed, 4k maybe crashed 2x’s since 2008, lol.

Moral of the story, DokBrown is absolutely correct, hw has less companies and quirks involved, it =‘s less crashes I would think.

2kxl, is a diff story. LOTS of untrapped errors.
