Beats: Can You Have The Same Program On 2 Different Tracks?

I want to use the same program on 2 different tracks with different presets. It seems that when I try to do this, when I change the preset in one track it changes in the other. Is there a way around this? I'm really new, with limited understanding. Might be doing this completely wrong. :Sigh:

The program matters, not the preset.
Use a different program. Duplicate it if you have to, delete everything else and use only what you need.
