Moving Expansions on the computer

Hi
Is it possible to move expansions on a computer (Mac in this case) from where they get installed ?

This is for use with the software.

For me it installs them

Harddrive/user/jaded/library/application support/akai/mpc/expansions

But my main drive doesn't have much room, i store all the rest of my samples on external drives.
I want to move them to an external drive and tell the software to go look there.

I've tried an alias folder (which works with Spectrasonics Stylus) but that doesn't seem to work.

Any ideas?

Symbolic links should work, but don't work as far as I'm aware, try a forum search to see if anyone has solved it

Thanks for your reply. i have searched but without luck.

I'm not sure why it doesn't accept the alias. But it seems to write a file detailing the expansions. So maybe i need to look at manually altering that file with the new addresses. If i find a way i'll definitely share

Make a symbolic link of the expansion folder in library/applicationsupport/akai in the new location
Then put the symbol link in the original folder . Rename the original folder to something to test the new link , you can then delete the ill folder if you want
