"Pad Perform" settings disabled

Good morning everyone, I just started with MPC beats with my Akai MPK mini, and I'm trying to follow this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PpJ1Ujl8R0. When I get to the moment of adding the bass line, I notice that the "Pad Perform" settings in the video are different than mine.
I tried to change then, but the menu is disabled, so I can't change the type to chromatic or the root note or the scale. How do I change these settings / enable this menu?

Pad perform is only available on keygroup, MIDI and plugin programs. On drum programs it's disabled. In that demo video he uses 16 levels on the drum program to create the bass line.
