MPC Live sample file length limit in standalone

I'm curious if anyone knows what the maximum file size or length of a sample is possible to load into a project in standalone? I just got a SATA drive loaded in and have some rather lengthy field recordings I want to be able to cut smaller excerpts out of, but I'm finding I cannot load the larger ones. I'd like to cut them up into smaller sections and load them back onto the SATA drive for access away from my computer and I'd like to make the fewest cuts possible, if possible.
