Why do my drums sound crunchier/nicer before song export

So I've notice this with also the MPC touch I used to have but maybe someone can lend some help or explain this...When I'm playing a song or sequence in the MPC program itself the drums sound more "full" is the way I can explain it. Once I export it to an mp3 (192 or 320 bitrate with 44.1 khz sampling) the drums sound weaker and more flat....Anyone know why this is or a setting I may need to change to export better?

You just answered your own dilema.

You exporting as Mp3, the weakest format for audio. Export as wav instead.

Do you have vintage mode applied when this happens? I think this could be part of the problem when you export.

Also, *maybe* you're running it red, over zero on the master, and converting that doesnt come out too good.

I find exporting 24/48 wavs and then converting with dbpoweramp (CBR, 320, slow encoding) to an mp3 sounds way better than exporting an mp3 from any program I have (FL, Sonar, MPC). dbpoweramp is the truth. It's the best converter I know of, worth every penny.

I've exported out of the MPC Live and the MP3 format sound terrible! It sounded metalish.

When l do all my mp3s l do it out of a free program call Audacity. Go online and look for "Audacity software". You can get it for Mac or PC. I kid you not the mp3s from it sound just like the wave file. No lost of sound quality. I already did a shoot out with it. This way you have the same quality as a wav audio file but the file will not be as large as a wav file would be.

How you use it is: Export your wav file to the desk top, open up Audacity then minimize Audacity. Take the wav file and drag and drop it into Audacity. Then from there make your mp3s.

He won't have to spend a dime with Audacity and have top quality.

Yeah its dope. I also do my editing there too. I love the fact that you can get feep into the sound and use the black dots as a guide to edit precisely. Plus stacking in it is dope.
