Saving samples onto MPC Live’s hard drive?

Is it possible to save all of my samples onto the MPC Live’s hard drive so I don’t have to use a USB flash drive?

put the unit into controller mode. mount up the usb drive. then cut and paste or copy/paste from usb stick to drive.

i dont use the machine in controller mode but this should be a way to do it.

good practice to get your own 3rd party SSD drive and keep your projects there. some have expressed soe issue with the internal drive not being mounted properly, losing projects, etc...

why? too risky? i wanted to buy an internal hd this weekend. what's the best solution? external drive?

I'll second that, it really ISN'T a good idea to rely on the internal drive for the reasons Marctronixx highlighted, much safer ( & only takes around an hour) to buy a solid state/hard drive to format & install it in the compartment underneath the Live. You don't need to spend a fortune either, I bought a 640gb 2.5" laptop drive for about £15-£20 ($20-$25) from a computer exchange shop, does the job nicely..

Nah don't do that.

Some people have problems also with installing a hard drive internally and some don't like maschinehead s not having an issue. I say go external to be safe all around.

I have the SD card and its working like a charm. I use PNY SD cards. One external USB that works great. So l can only suggest to go the external way. You still get to save and load so you will be good externally. But Maschinehead's could be good too.

Whattttt??? I say buy a good quality SSD drive, and mount it in the Live. Don't get a HDD, they'll fail with the motion, but an SSD should do you solid. Also, maybe now and then, connect to a computer or other thing and back up. Cause backups.

Iris recommend to get your own SSD drive and install your content directly there if you don’t want to use an external dongle or external thumb drive.

If you WANT to use the built in internal drive you can technically, but its not a sound decision because there have been people to have lost content that was stored on that drive.

I would not suggest that as Marctronix said.

Samsung Evo, no problems here. Very popular too.

I agreed with you. You didn't say anything wrong. I told him to basically try your method instead if trying to save to the internal hard drive where the content is.
