MPC Live touch screen crash

So just as i was getting into building a full track in Live (so setup 200 bars and started getting deep into editing everything from the beginning), the touch screen just froze. and then ended up losing everything. yeah yeah you can say make sure you save every five mins or whatever. the amount of bugs and issues im currently getting with the live is beginning to piss me off. i really like it but so far bugs in the software, audio tracks and random touch screen freezes have actually stopped me making any music. its like the most flawed dream machine. i really dont want to have to take this back, but i just hope this thing can one day get stable. not asking for too many features, just dont want the software to bug out and dont want the hardware to crash. is that too much to ask?

im 2.06 software and 2.05 firmware. rant over just frustrated that the last 3 hours of music production have been a complete waste of time.

I have the odd Touch screen freeze, but i've never lost any of the project, just turn mpc unit on and off and carry on .....

As soon as you turn it off without saving sure u have lost your work? In my case I could revert to an older version but pretty much have had to rewrite everything. Obviously need to save more frequently. But that's a sign of instability.

You're only turning the unit on and off, not closing the program on the pc ....

I’ve reported it as a bug ages ago you should too...When option “pressing pad selects all note events” is ON inside Grid Edit and you have a long sequence Live freezes until all note events are selected..If you keep pressing things you make it worse..The solution is either to wait for the notes to be selected or disable this behavior by accessing the wheel inside Grid edit and turning it OFF..

In the meantime remember to set up AUTOSAVE in preferences, maybe set it to every minute or so. Not experienced any complete freezes in my Live, you should definitely contact Akai about this.

Both good bits of advice thanks. So it's a known bug in long sequences. And didn't know there is an autosave feature
