hi can MPC Live do automation in standalone mode?

doesn't look like you can draw it in, but i was hoping to record some strings/pads from a HW synth in MIDI, then be able to tweak the cutoff etc and save those changes as it loops round from the MIDI i recorded when my hands are free...

anyone know the answer to this?

thank you.

You can record it with standalone, but that's it.
You cannot see or edit it. You also cannot delete one specific type of automation…only everything.

One of my biggest criticisms towards the new MPCs. Simply baffling.
Tried asking Akai if this is on the roadmap, but they're not saying anything.

hi thanks for answering.

so am i able to record the automation straight from the cutoff filter knob on my hardware synth itself?

i want to record MIDI performance then it can loop and now when i have my hand free i can add automation by adjusting the filter on my hardware synth.

i don't want to record automation from the Q link thing.

frustrating if you mess it up and up need to start all over again but hopefully they will add that in... surely?!

can i definitely do the automation from the hardware synth itself?

thanks.

Oh really... :smoker:

"you can record automation, erase it, and edit it in the list editor. Automation drawing on the screen is coming, but no date estimate on that yet."

I hope it comes, but Dan also said the user expansion pack viewer was running on his MPC and was dropping with the first update. 7 months later and nothing. They did change on how expansions are viewed in Controller Mode on the Touch and Live though.

We also need to be able to automate the Sub and Master busses.. Can't believe it's still not here..
