Midi + internal samples?

I can’t get the mpc live to output midi while also playing internal sounds. I want to be able to play samples on pads live while triggering midi events from the pads on external devices. It seems like it’s either midi or pads, can’t believe that it’ not both. Any ideas?

Currently it is not possible to divide inputs from outputs, as far as I can tell. The currently selected track dictates the pads, as well as external inputs, whether from the MIDI Input 1, 2 or a USB. This is a big disconnect we need mended on the MPCX.

I am new to MPC gear, but from what I can ascertain from various forums and posts, it was possible on previous (or at least some) MPC devices. Anyways, the concept of routing inputs is a rather vital feature that is much needed.
