Is there some stigma around the MPC LIVE?

1 disappointment & 1 additional wishlist item for me. My one disappointment is that it doesn't support multi-output plugins. PITA when it comes to drum VSTs. 2nd wishlist item is for plugins support in stand alone mode as I'm more VST than sample. Looking at it positively, I'll be spending a lot more time creating samples.

My way is a bit hybrid in that I use a lot of VSTs and have always worked in a DAW to some degree. But I dig the drum machine workflow. I've been contemplating which way to go for quite some time and finally decided to go drum machine and make the necessary adjustments.

Maybe I'm happier than the average person coming from a DAW environment as I was fully aware of the MPC's limitations, for the most part, vs my DAW. I watched review & demo vids for a month before I purchased the Touch. The exception was the lack of multi-output plugin support. Maybe because most that use MPCs are sample based, or that info is now buried on Akai's FAQ page, but I didn't come across that info until it was too late.

I figure RAM upgrades & licensing at minimum would get in the way of plugins in stand alone mode. Without more RAM, yeah, plugins would be useless. But I'd want them if RAM upgrades were somehow made possible.

I probably won't do much in stand alone mode until I get around to creating some kits & melodic instruments. My Live is a heavier Touch until then.

I believe the issue may be for software production styles is a bit easier to do every in the box than hardware production. The live is a great machine but still you would need to bring your tracks into a daw for further instruments and mastering unless you are working in a hardware studio. Most bedroom producers and synth based productions is done with software cause of the ease of use and cost. I have both I love live for the feel and sampling editing.
