Midi In

Ok, having some issues. I am running midi out on 4 channels (1-4) into din midiA in on mpclive, why is the midi triggering only the selcted track with all four seperate channels of midi? The tracks are all on different channels but yet the midi in only triggers the selected track with all 4 channels? Why? This is not very cool, upon looking for a way to fix this, I am unable to find this... seems like the Midi Production Center should be able to handle midi in easily? Am I missing something here? This is a basic function.

This is a known limitation of the Live. It seems to be limited to "omni mode" for midi reception.

It has been a common complaint since its launch.

My hope is that it will be addressed in a future update. I would like to think that Akai always intended the live to be able to receive in midi "poly mode", otherwise why bother putting 2 midi in ports on the thing?
Traditionally any midi hardware with 2 midi in ports, had 2 ports specifically to be able to receive up to 32 separate midi channels (16 per cable) at once, for multimbral playback/recording.

I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure my old MPC 500 had midi poly mode, and it only had one midi in port.

I was hoping this was one of the main fix in this "huge" update. nope have some crappy soft synths instead this is where the mpc falls down completely and legacy mpcs shine
