Can anyone clarify to me some workflow tips on the MPC live ? It is my first MPC ever, and I’m not hitting a sweet spot with workflow / productivity yet .

I have made some headway while smoking and buckling down on the sampling stuff

I like copying microtonal changes from pad to pad , and creating my own scales and things like that

But I was wondering why double up on sample edit and also warp pages ??? I keep editing stuff in warp mode and then having a huge chunk of audio I want to delete because it’s eating all my memory and taking forever to save .

Also, I really don’t like the format for browsing sounds / assigning pads . You can only load new sounds into the sample pool and have it overtake the currently selected pad ???

What’s a good workflow for all of this ? I’m desperate to get this thing working as I spent my money on it and put in an SSD etc. I will do whatever I can to fall in love with it

yeah maybe when browsing samples you need to push the pad to deselect it so it doesn't replace that pad's sample... other than that, I am not sure what exactly you would have the machine do. The browser is not great, and I don't think there is a page that shows all sounds loaded in memory where you can quick assign stuff to various programs and pads. Would have been cool though.

Not sure what exactly the whole warp sample edit issue is.... don't you edit sounds in sample edit, then truncate and toss onto a program (pad) and add warp onto that?

As for eating all memory, that is akai for you... they always cut corners somewhere, you just have to figure out where and figure out if working around those issues still makes the machine worth using. Every product they make has some stupid issue.
