This is why Roland and Akai Pro started to include built in sounds with the samplers. They knew the process was too slow for when inspirations strikes. Especially compared to other instrument. All we have to do is pick it up and start playing.

That is why Pre package sound sets and loop packs here. (Speaking to the OP) It reduces the wait time of composing on an MPC. Personally, I think this is the reason, I don't like to watch beats being made. Just too much dead air, unless you count people smashing buttons musical.

I agree. Also, SO many producers went from sampling with records to wanting live instrumentation in their music (I’m one of them) Not saying that’s right or wrong, but it’s a natural evolution. IMO that’s another reason that loop packs started appearing, and one reason why we’re getting synths in the MPC. I think it was necessary. What’s ironic is that I don’t see much difference between loop packs and having an Air synth added to the MPC, or everyone using the same break beats, or sampling from a record for that matter. It’s all how you use the sounds that matters.

Which replies are “stupid”? I don’t ask to antagonize. But if mine were “stupid”, I’d love to understand how or why.

You were aggressive with him.
We don't need that. He was saying something worth to listen.
Sorry I didn't want to offend anyone.

I didn't think what I said was aggressive. Nor was I directing my comments at anyone - they were just general. Not my style to attack people or be aggressive with them. I'm direct, but certainly not aggressive. Didn't mean for it to come across that way.

LOL - man how you gonna say you didn't want to offend anyone, but label comments "stupid"? That's not an aggressive question / statement I'm making - it's actually a joke. I'm smiling writing this. But still. Calling comments "stupid" is aggressive and offensive man. Just saying. We don't need that either. But I'll take the blame. My comments came across as aggressive in the first place.

But anyway, man I don't get offended by anything on the internet. Nothing on here is that critical to life. It's all good.

And btw I'm glad you asked the LFO question. I don't have an answer, but I tried to figure it out one day. Couldn't. Maybe we can get an answer.

Aggressive and direct is very different. Personally, I can tell a lot about a persons music from the things a person say. Many time I don't even need to hear their music, to know that they create quality music. It's really about the detailed.

It would be wise choice for the OP or anyone to listen to Eylac he knows what he's talking about. I've never seen him chime in with an egotistical answers. Just direct, clear and to the point.

Yes sorry man, maybe the only stupid one was me. Ah ah.
But don't be unkind with millenials just because they are millenial and use a language you think is millenial.
But never mind, I apologise.
About LFO, how does this rate work?
Its a bit cryptic, isn't it? No answer from manual, no answer from Akai official forum.
Maybe they don't even know themselves.

Yeah I feel you when inspiration hits, you need to put it down quickly. I can't tell you the numerous of times, I wasn't able to jump right up and go, then with in a milli second lost the thought, DAAAAAAMMMM! So I place hand held recorders around so I can put it down with my mouth then go back into the MPC or wherever. But with the packed sounds I can just go!!! And if I don't like them I can switch out. the thing is getting down the idea in a hurry.

That's my main issue with DAW's. Maybe it's a matter of what you are used to and what you like? Finding the right piece of music to record takes the most time to get started in most cases in my situation, which is the same for DAW and MPC. I can't chop faster then on a MPC. I must admit, I don't have my drumkits and other sounds DAW ready, never made any templates and such cause I never really really got into composing in DAW. Maybe if I would be more of a software guy and had made a lot of presets, templates and ready-to-go drumkits I think I probably be as fast as I am on the MPC.

With a MPC or Software DAW, sampling has always been a slower starting process. Auto-loading drum-kits do help. The issue with the new MPC are the booting time, the prettier people want the interface to be the longer the boot time.

Man I’ve read plenty of your comments. You’re far from stupid. And no worries. I appreciate your comments when I read them.

Man that LFO, I’d have to revisit what the heck I was doing to try to figure it out. But yeah, it’s cryptic. But what bothered me most is that I thought “man, this would be so simple if Akai could / would just explain it”. I’m assuming the Akai folks that post on these boards don’t know either. So they just ignore the question. If I figure it out I’ll post a reply.

Thank you man. I do genuinely try to be helpful. But don’t hesitate to disagree with me and educate me too! I like learning new stuff. Lol
