This is possible, and even in cases with a huge screen on a synth it can be of great help.
You need to refer to the MIDI datasheet of the synth (btw. something what is missing for the MPCs) and identify the appropriate codes. Many of them are standard values, but may differ in special cases.
I assume you have the
Data List.
BUT: easier is enable all data transmittal from the g33 to the MPC (incl. System Exclusive). If you hit a key or turn a knob on the g99 the MIDI monitor of the MPC should show not only the value (e.g.0-127) but also the control change value. Often is the CC code displayed in binary values, but
here (e.g.) you can find the common CC values:
Tap on the "In and Out"-symbol on the top screen of the master page (as on page 107 of theMPC manual - MpcTuiManual.pdf) and you can see what is going "in" and "out" of the MPC.
