Q-Link knobs have a delay

Ok, this has been happening for as long as I can remember, but it's gotten worse for me now, to the point where it's very distracting. I've submitted a bug report/help request to Akai but I'm curious to know if it's happening to many other people?

The issue; a Q-Link knob has to be rolled back and forth numerous times before it starts to work. This seem to be happening in any menu/screen, and with any q-link knob. I cannot narrow it down to anywhere or time in particular.
