MPC LIVE firmware update HELP

hi all, I tried many times to update my firmware for MPC live, downloaded MAC version, load onto USB, USB into MPClive follow all the steps, the MPC seems to NOT recognize the updater ... it just goes into dead stuck update mode (maybe waiting to be connected to computer, which I don't want) I watched 3 different tutorials, all say same, i follow all steps, nothing happens... loosing it here. I checked in the MPC live browser, the MPC can see the USB, it sees the app... do i have the wrong file

Format the usb and redownload the updater. It may be corrupted.

ha - just checked on the AKAI page it is indeed possible to offline update but then you need this:

MPC X/Live Firmware Update 2.4 (USB UPDATE IMAGE) ? its a zip then you need to extract the ZIP and put the .img file on the USB stick - you are obviously moving the MAC app to the USB stick
