I like this idea. But lets think this through.

Sample category / types that we can set first, is best, to prevent a kick popping up in a snare position.

I see the first part of such a feature is creating your own sample types categories, i.e. kicks, snares, melody, one shots, loops, etc. Then next screen would be designing a drum program zones template where you specify which pads / rows / columns / banks will be reserved for the previous sample types you created. Next would be selecting one of the folders you already have on a removable drive that you already populated with samples for a specific category type. So if I wanna randomly fill all the pads and zones I selected for "kicks" or otherwise Id select the folder I already put together with different samples of said type that Id want the randomized picks of kicks to occur. Etc. Etc. Randomizing can be implemented many o' ways. So ...thats my version.
