Layering pad sounds and volume mixing missing?

Howdy

Been a while since I've been here. I've been an MPC 1000 user and looking to get new machine as my 1K buttons have worn out.

I checked out the MPC Live, but there seems to be a glaring shortcoming in the workflow. It doesn't seem to let you mix the layered sounds in one pad like you can on the 1K. It seems you can adjust velocity curve and pan but not level?! Not sure what firmware this machine was running. It was brand new and out of the box.

Any thoughts would be appreciated . The MPC Live sounded like a good progression from the 1K but I won't get it if I can't layer my kicks and snares and mix them with the ease I did on the 1K

Dont know about the hardware but in the software its right next to the pan knob in every layer. Pretty sure they wouldn't have left something like this out of the Live.

It is there. On both software and hardware.

lts thete on the live. I recommend Tutors MPC guide, he has done a great job on instructions in his book.
