MPC Live Inputs not recording

I’m having an issue where I can’t record guitar (or anything) directly into my MPC Live in standalone mode. My track is armed and set to Input 1 (L) and I see signal as normal but as soon as I press play Input 1 goes blank and no signal is recorded.

I haven’t run into this problem before and it happens whether I go in directly from my guitar, through a DI or through a mixer. I’ve tried restarting my MPC and using default settings with no luck.

Please help

check the input setting on the back of the machine. set to phono or line? should be line.
