I am new to mpc and I am still learning. Nevertheless I am making electronic music since 22 years including releases, live acts and playing regulaey and I never had that much fun with any maschine I owned so far (having some elektrons synced is a lot of fun though). I also never had time to practice playing (there is always something more important and why bother when programming it is working anyway???)
So now I bought this beginner-titled mpc one just to have a hardware device to record my performances on the toraiz squid (which is awesome by the way). Besides of getting into the os I started easy fingerdrumming melodics lessons and I never expected it to be that much fun. I am having a creative block as often as I find myself adjusting the reverb of a channel that is on mute or looking for THAT sample in a pool of 120 gig. Usually this is the time to stop and maybe organize samples or just switch off the computer. Now that I started the basic lessons with melodics I have to say that I love it. So regarding feature requests I think it would be awesome tohave something like this included. It shouldn't be too difficult to do. The soundengine is there and programming a simple graphic userinterface or maybe even utilizing tve sequencer view would be awesome. Eitherready made patterns or your own stuff to play to and show whenever you hit the note within a range of... ppq and giving some statistics. It really feels like playing a game. Hopefully it will improve timing and playing though. But yeah that would be great. Apart from this - p locks like elektron does and (it wont happen) the ability to connect an audiointerface using usb to use for external inserts. The effect algorithms are ok but nothing I would stick to once all audio is in the daw for mixing. Apart from this I am really pleased.
