Midi channel, plugin, keyboard....

I have some problems with midi channels in the MPC live. Whatever the channel I choose, the result is the same in a plugin track.
My configuration : an MPC live (standalone mode) with 1 keyboard (ARTURIA) and 1 synth (MODAL SKULPT).
I have a Midi track wich send notes to the synth via midi channel 2, the synth receive onmy midi channel 2
I have a plugin track and i choose Midi Channel 1.

If i set up the keyboard on channel 2, I play with the synth. If ichoose an other channel, nothing work. OK !
On the plugin track, all channel play with the plugin. Why ? Why not only the channel 1 ?
I would like to play with plugin on channel 1 and with synth on channel 2. Is it possible ?

Yes it is possible but only per track.

So if you want to play with your synth midi channel two: Select that midi track in the mpc assigned to midi channel 2.

If you want to play the plugin select the plugin track.

I have an artuaria keystep and it works flawlessly when the right midi channel is selected.

But, if i am on the plugin track, whatever the channel I choose, it's work. Then, what is the "function" of the midi channel in plugin track ?

the midi channel is relevant for if you use external synths who are on other midi channels.
