Hello,

I installed MPC 2.8.1 (MPC One) from the registered products page

I also installed the driver and I see the audio monitor icon (if it's related to MPC, I guess?)
but when I click the MPC icon on the desktop, it does not display anything, no window is popping up

how do I install expansions on my MPC One ?
form this : https://www.superb-sound.com/2019/10/06 ... expansion/

I am supposed to click on import, but where ?

there is no info in the manual ( 2.8 )

thanks for shedding some light on this

[edit : as a temporary workaround, I could install the F9 expansion manually by copying the files on my sd card, now I try to figure how to move the files to the internal drive of the MPC One]

You want to put the expansions on an SD card. Make a file named Expansions on your SD card, put the SD card on your computer, pull the expansions in to the "Expansions" folder, eject it, put it in your One, and you'll see them appear in the Expansions section automatically.

Don't put anything on the internal drive.

thats's what I did sdcard/expansions/com.akaipro.mpc.expansions/*.xpm
but the expansion show only once in the expansions tab, it has a "C" icon instead of the F9 icon
and after a while it goes away from the expansions tab

- from the link I posted I am supposed to download Akai studio and drag drop the expansion , but it's not free AFAIK

- then you got all these AIR virtual instruments, they are VSTI so how is it related to the MPC One ?

- the legacy expansions (like The Bank)... it just installs but I don't know what's its purpose

- are all these samples/demos/wav copyrighted ? can I use them for production ?

I just downloaded and installed the F9 expansion this morning and it worked fine for me. After you download it, don't pull the entire folder over. Open it up and then pull the F9 Expansion folder over to your SD card "expansions" file, then put it back in the One and you should see them. My file path goes SD card>expansions>F9 Instruments. There's a PDF in the initial folder that will walk you through it more specifically.

That worked for me in standalone.

I'm new here and still learning, so I don't know about your other questions and don't wanna guess. But adding expansions the way I stated above has worked for me each time so I feel good speaking to that. But if I'm wrong on anything I'm sure someone here will correct me.

first I had to search my hard drive cos it does not ask for a destination on install

then the files are not in a folder called expansions, so we're not talking about the same thing

Don't worry, dude. I fell in to a similar hole trying to update the first time! Glad you got it figured out.
