Is there an option to see the sound waves when recording on the mpc live? Like on a abelton?

You can go to sample edit view after you record the sample. You cannot see the sample in realtime like Ableton Live though.

Most, if not all, DAWs do that.
Ableton's not special in any way in this regard.
